Applying mathematical methods to engineering problems.
It has never been easy to explain people what I do. Even when I was an HVAC engineer and used energy modelling for building performance simulation it caused high eyebrows. Rise of term “compitational engineering” helped me to better define my work in overall process - there is plenty of space for purely mathematical methods to run same job more efficient and with more outcomes. On the other side, failure to make it a new industrial standard casts a shadow on those who is capable to do it individually or on office level. I am optimistic: progress is a good thing and slowly but surely it will prevail.
Background
Academical education with dozen of real practice in engineering and programming is a very advantageous combination. Sometimes they collide and this is where real fun begins.
Being able to see things from a different perspective has always been my most powerfull skill. Though explaining it is still a challenge.
I have worked in 3 countries and with many people. I understand business needs as well as technical details and develop solutions considering both.

I do not use modern technologies just because they are funcy but implement the right tool for the job whether it is a script or ML.
